The lowest floors are an almost perfect square but as the tower rises and tapers with increasing height corners on two sides of the building flatten turning the floorplates into squashed hexagons that become narrower and narrower Taking advantage of the regularly shaped lower floors with their big internal areas will be offices whilst the smaller upper levels will be a new luxury hotel.

The oculus near the top of the building was originally planned to be a circular opening but the finished building now has a more rectangular void, perhaps because some felt the original plan was a little too like the rising sun on a Japanese flag.
