| I would wait. The thing you got to remember is that all Windows applications are moving toward MS VISTA/DX10. This means that at some point you will need to upgrade again because Geforce 7 series do not support this. The budget-medium performance Geforce 8 series 8600 GS, GT, GTS, will be released TOMMOROW, (April 17, barring any delays). The price between to low-end 7600 GS is almost the same as the 8800, about $149. There really isn't a reason to get a 7600 GS if you can get a much better card at the same price unless you find a really good deal. Otherwise I think it makes sense to wait and see what happens. At the very least you will get the 7600 a few bucks cheaper as the newer cards will drop the prices on the older ones. UPDATE Sure enough the 8600 was released to day and the reviews are awesome. The GTS and the XXX espicially. I wasn't planning a video card upgrade till later this year but I might reconsider now. http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTMyNCwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==And What do you think about this video card? I'm getting one next week...here are the specs of the top of my head... 512MB video memory DDR2, 128 bit memory interface, 400MHz core clock, 540MHz memory clock...I'm not sure which brand was bought...I mean like PNY, XFX, eVGA etc...what do you think about it? business for sale by ownerr4i | |
